Step 4: Validation and Due Diligence

This is where most of the information gathering happens. You will have the opportunity to speak with existing franchisees, receive a copy of the Franchise Disclosure Document and Franchise Agreement, work on acquiring funding, review documents with a lawyer, and if things are looking good, meet with the Franchisor, usually at their head office on what is commonly called a Discovery Day!
